The conception of Xiamen Garden originates from the building garden and cultural features of Southern Fujian, it amply utilizes existing topographical condition, and partitions the space through garden construction method, such as vertical and plant allocation, etc. The local characteristic building material and folk handicraft of Southern Fujian are adopted, and the building culture and art of Xiamen are taken as the thought for garden construction; stone is taken as the main material, the architectural language symbol of civilian residential housing in Southern Fujian is taken as the stone fence, adding the finishing touch with antithetical couplet, and the landscape of Southern Fujian is constructed and embodied. The entire garden concentratedly embodies the distinctive features of Xiamen as a city suitable for human settlement at the overwater flower garden, and embodies the cultural characteristics of “embroidery on stone in Southern Fujian”, it strives to create endless artistic mood in a limited space.
